Abstract

This study documents seasonal and interannual variation (2015–2020) in the spatial extent and density of submerged macrophytes at the Sirmione Peninsula (southern Lake Garda, Italy) using Sentinel-2 imagery, compares results with previous imaging-spectrometry data, investigates environmental drivers of macrophyte change, and examines a possible COVID-19 lockdown effect on macrophyte colonization.
